    • Vocational Education and Training (VET) graduates (diplomas, trades): Up to 18 months.
    • Note: Special arrangements under the Australia-India Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (AI-ECTA) for Indian nationals remain in place, offering longer stays for specific degrees.
  • New Visa Streams:
    • The “Graduate Work stream” has been renamed the “Post-Vocational Education Work stream.”
    • The “Post-Study Work stream” has been renamed the “Post-Higher Education Work stream.” The stream you can apply for is determined by the qualification you use to meet the visa study requirement.
  • Introduction of “Graduate to Permanent” Program (Details Evolving): While specific details are still being finalised, the government has signaled a new “Graduate to Permanent” program. This aims to provide a clearer pathway to permanent residency for high-achieving graduates in priority sectors.
